About this book

In the second and last book of stories about the Hundred Acre Wood, a new friend arrives: Tigger, a bouncy, boastful animal who does not know what Tiggers like to eat. Pooh and Piglet build a house for Eeyore, Pooh invents the game of Poohsticks from a bridge, Owl's house is blown down in a gale, and Rabbit tries to 'unbounce' Tigger. At the end Christopher Robin, who is growing up and going away to school, takes Pooh to an enchanted place at the top of the forest to say goodbye.

Context and significance

A. A. Milne published the book in 1928 with drawings by E. H. Shepard, and it entered the public domain in the United States in 2024. Read the first book, Winnie-the-Pooh, and Milne's poems When We Were Very Young.
