Sobre el autor
Ibn Hazm (994–1064) was born in Córdoba, the son of a vizier, and grew up in the palace world of the Umayyad caliphate just as it was collapsing into civil war. He took part in politics, was imprisoned and exiled more than once, and finally devoted himself to scholarship, writing on law, theology, history and comparative religion.
He is best loved today for The Ring of the Dove, a book about love written in his youth in Játiva, full of stories and verses about falling in love, separation, loyalty and loss, many from his own life. It is one of the most personal and tender books of Andalusian literature.
