These forty-four poems for children, written for and about Milne's small son, Christopher Robin, include 'Buckingham Palace', in which Christopher Robin and his nurse Alice watch the changing of the guard; 'Vespers', with the little boy kneeling at the foot of his bed saying his prayers; 'The King's Breakfast'; 'Disobedience', about James James Morrison Morrison Weatherby George Dupree; and the first appearance of a teddy bear, not yet called Pooh.
