Partners in Crime

Tommy and Tuppence Beresford, now married and a little bored, take over a detective agency, Blunt's International Detectives, as a cover for catching foreign spies, and solve a series of cases in the styles of famous fictional detectives, Sherlock Holmes, Father Brown, Dr Thorndyke and others, with Tommy and Tuppence imitating each one in turn. The stories are full of parody and jokes about the detective fiction of the 1920s.

Agatha Christie collected the stories in 1929, and the book entered the public domain in the United States in 2025. Read the first Tommy and Tuppence novel, The Secret Adversary, and Chesterton's The Innocence of Father Brown.
